PROJECT CAT NIP TOY!

Today I decided to buy some catnip from the pet store!

As a trial, I sewed some felt and stuff the catnip inside!

I have read that cats love catnip and it's like.... Beer to me! Makes me high and I can never have enough of it!!

So here goes my DIY PROJECT CATNIP!

This small little packet costed my $7!!!

Nicknamed: LITTLE PINKY!

They enjoy the toy alright! But somehow their behaviour is not what I expected?!!

I expected them to behave like me.... after 1 mini barrel... but they are like me having BBQ chicken wings and beer at Bedok85... not high, too sober!

Hmmmm... wonder if it's the brand.... I'm gona read up on that!

Anyway, I came across these at the petshop! I just order it last night from Amazon!

爱心 MUFFINS!

Woke up to a beautiful morning after a rather hectic chionging session the night before!

Wished I could sleep in more on a Beautiful Sunday but Cookie&Creamie were up for their Sunday Morning "Cross-Country" run! They practically completed the whole SOC (Standard Obstacle Course) in my room, revolving round my bed!

Set off for a much deserved breakfast with Starry and bought the ingredients!
I commented that the cost of the ingredients put together will probably allow me to buy more than 2 dozens of muffin, professionally made! haha! But Homemade is different! it's more 爱心!!! Nothing beats making Sweet treats for your love ones!

Starry patiently sit there and read out the instructions and the measurements to me! It was FUN!
In all, we did 3 batches of Muffins:

1) BlueBerry Cheese (Followed recipe!)

2) Chocolate Chip (Own Agaration Modified Recipe!),

3) BlueBerry Cheese (Modified, not enough milk liao! More egg and butter!)

The 3rd batch was the best!
More fluffy and texture was smoothier!

Learning Point:

1) More butter and Egg will make the texture more smooth!

2) Layering Process, 1st layer (very thin,with more blueBerry),2nd layer (BlueBerry Jam n Cheese), 3rd Layer (Top thicker batter to prevent cracking!)

3) Find out if Oven is not suitable for baking... waiting for answer!

Maybe this Oven is not suitable for baking?!

So far my baking projects with this Oven are all not very successful! =P *POUT*

4) 20mins too long, abt 15mins (at least for this oven)

5) Need to find out why the top dun crack prettily but raised up the whole crust!

Overall, good experience! More practise!!! YAY! HAPPY!

Woke at 9am (due my very persistent personal alarm: Cookie the Kitty alarm clock!)


Went for Breakfast with Papa, had sinful Hokkien mee and Fried Kuay Teow! YAY! With extra cockles and extra BLACK!


Have been feeling famish all the time lately, must be due to all the training I have been doing! Went back, actually wanted to focus on studying, but ended up doing things like cleaning my room, playing with Cookie&Creamie! Then eventually, studied from 12 to 4.20pm. Finished the 1.5cm thick text book and 2 mock exam papers. Sleepy!!!


Napped for abt 1hr and left for TP for swim with Clarissa. Decided to take some videos to see my own stroking underwater and above water.

Need to improve:
- Wasted energy to lift ankles above water to kick, gd angle and strength but maybe should focus more underwater for stronger propulsion!



- Left arm too lazy to lift properly, entry into water looks ok, but the pull has some wastes angles, should concentrate on using more strength to pull


- Too much rolling from side to side esp when pulling for breathe, need to focus tilting head, not lifting!


- Look down to bottom of lane, not front (less to check lane markers), will have less strain on back of neck and collarbone muscles.




With this initial analysis, I stretched more and focus on my stroke and completed 20 laps with more ease and better timing! Amazing!!! I use to do 20 laps with more strain! First 10 laps will be 12mins 50 secs, second 10s will be abt 13mins 50 secs, so total abt 26mins 40 secs & Panting!! Today I did 25mins 10secs! Happy with the improvement plus I finished off stronger and with greater ease!

YAY! I CAN DO IT!


When I finished bathing, I suddenly realized that I have lotsa new greenish veins popping out of no where on my body, esp my legs! Gosh! I din notice them before!?! Too much running recently?! I was merely inspecting the usual bruising (after every 5+km run) on my left knee , then I noticed how bony and “veiny” my feet looks… maybe losing more weight will take the load off my poor size 5 (sometimes 4.5) Miss Left and Miss Right!


Losing weight can wait! My poor tummy cant! Me & Clarissa then head off for some yummy dinner! My tummy deserve some Ice Cold Cheng Teng and Deep Fried Fish&Chips!


Heck the green alien veins!!! Tmr can Train harder! Eat 1st! Hahha!

i usually put on weight face and very hard to lose them off one lor.... Ok, I know I have lost some weight lah, but got so drastic mah?

Yesterday, I finally saw my colleague who got back from his reservist, block leave after....1mth?
Then the 1st thing he told me,
"I tendered liao lor!"
OMG!

This morning, I finally saw my other colleague who got back from his reservist, and helping out at other branch after....2weeks?
Then the 1st thing he told me,
"I handed my letter liao, my last day 30th!"
OMG!

At 2.13pm, I received an email from my old team mate (now in the V-for-Vicious-Team)...
The subject was: RE: Farewell,
"Today is my last day....."
WTF!

I need to stay afloat! Get away from me Devil!

OPERATION-BAKE-A-CHEESE-CAKE!!!

Bought a Baking Book from Popular bookstore during one of my "转运" sessions at work.

By that I mean to take my wallet and work hp, walk around aimlessly at Heartland Mall and pray that my luck (运) will change (转)! HAH!

Still, my week passed uneventful... my regrets for not being disciplined enough to wake up to do my research in the morning and on some lazy evening, didnt train for my event. Work became rather mundane, everything zipped pass... I was feeling rather down...

1st up: I went to TP for a Swim and a Jog.... my legs went jelly when I headed out to the Bedok Res. I was so glad that I persevered on! I completed my 1km swim in 32 mins and 5km run in 30mins.... decent timing lah! Considering my lousy knees and ill-disciplined training schedule! hahah! Excuses Excuses!

2nd: I went around the neighbourhood in search of a seamtress who would sew my curtains... I bought some nice... kiddy Bedsheet at ikea, gona convert them to curtains! hhahahhah! Yes yes! I am not gona buy some lousy ugly and expensive curtains for my room! I need it to look cheery so I will wake up to a cheery day.... EVERYDAY!

But Alas! I can find no one to do that for me! Or rather, they wanna charge me astronomical price for it! Actually I can sew the curtains myself! But I dun own a sewing machine anymore! WTF! Please! I made my own set of Bed sheet, Pillow Cases and a Bolster case, complete with matching Curtains (ALL IN BLUE - Yes, I was crazy for blue then!) when I was in Secondary 2 lor! And they wanna charge me $100 for a set of Curtains (4 window panel size) when the "Cloth" that I bought caused $20! WTF!
I vowed not to be a Carrot head! I WILL find some1 with a sewing machine that I can borrow! Just Wait! HMPH!

I decided to bake a cheese cake today!
3rd: I went to Simei's Phoon Huat (baking essentials shop) to buy ingredients for Cheese cake making! Bought some pretty cupcake paper tray too!

4th: Went to Tamp Mall to buy more ingredients! I lugged the shopping bags back home and begin OPERATION-BAKE-A-CHEESE-CAKE!

5th: I decided to bake a Bailey's Cheese Cake but failed. Haiz.... I concluded that it's the mixer that I am using! I miss my $65 Kenwood mixer I left at Mr.Tan's house! ARGH! Sob Sob!

6th: After confirming that I failed at my 1st attempt ever, I left the house for the nearest NTUC to buy additional ingredients to make a 2nd cheese cake! YES, I did that! I know I am crazy! Plus.... as I was passing back the fresh fruits sections, I saw the beautful Yellow lemons and thought :"Hey! I can modify the receipe alittle yah! Lemon Cheese Cake with Oreo Cookie Base sounds yummy Too!!"
So I bought 1 lemon!

7th: Ok! Lemon Cheese Cake done!

I Garnished it with some icing and cocoa powder with some Lemon rinds!

Niceee?!

8th: Exhausted... and angry with myself! Why cant I follow instructions and bake a cake?! Why didnt the mixer that I bought work as well as the one I left behind at Mr.Tan's house! DAMN!

9th: Starry surprised me with this lovely Sunflower at my house! OMG! I was too in shocked.... I couldnt response actually.
Sorry Starry if I appear nonchalant, i was actually too shocked to response and hence froze up!


Cookie & Creamie were really interested in Miss Sunny! They sniff and sniff and Creamie decided to taste if Miss Sunny is as Yummy as she smells like! She took a big bite at the Forget-Me-Nots! OMG!

This concluded my Sunday! Quite a Decent one too!

It has been a crazy week.... emotionally crazy one...

I havent been feeling too good with that I am doing with me life now...

my only comfort is coming home to my lovely kitties.... my family and knowing my dear friends are all behind me...

work sucks. period.

everyday i come in to work to read yet another email from my colleague who is leaving, or emails from colleagues who are dying to leave. we all wonder where our fate lies...
every one is cautious, overly carefully, we dun even know if they will intercept our emails...

i feel like.... Dr Allan Ooi... except that this young and talented doctor was in a more anguish position of course. He had dreams, such great dreams.... yet been confined to the walks of red tapes and policies after policies.... he chose to leave this place. But he left having the aim to make his departure - not a wasteful one. I received an email attachment from a colleague, this was supposed to be the last email that Allan sent out to his love ones to explain his choosen route. I duno if it's real, but it does make lotsa sense from the content and agruments presented.
I must say that for the rest of the day - I was wasted. emotionally.

in many ways, the organisation that I am in now is much much similar from where I came from... or rather, where I left for greener pastures. I think I have been fair, many of my colleagues share my sentiments. These are not pessimistic pple who grumble nonstop, take things for granted, ignorance pple... these are supposed to be highly motivated, results oriented, versatile to changes pple who are feeling the effect of this slump greatly, and are now depressed.

Yes, depressed is the word my buddy at work used on me. A called me last nite to chat, he told me that we should meet up more often. He also told me that he is waiting for the offer from another rival co. and knwing his track records, I have no qualms that he will get the offer. In fact, there will even be a promotion, which means better career advancement and higher pay. He urged me to decide what I wanna do next, if I would like to try out at their job offers. I then told him my concerns, my interest and hw I feel at this moment - vulnerable .

A suddenly became quiet, then he said :"Sister, for all the times that u comforted me when I had bad times and were sad, this is the first time that I can be ur listening ear... sis, are u ok, u sounded depressed leh. dun scare ur bro me.... are u ok?"

My joker Buddy can actuallly be this serious! Haha! It surprised me.... the words he used on me... did I sounded depressed? Was I really depressed or sadden or moody or what?! depressed seemed like a very strong word to use on me!

hmm.... i need to think abt it....I need time to be alone.... to really sieve out my tots and clear my mind.... i think i need to bake cake / cook a meal again.... haiz.... hope my cake wouldnt sink or i wouldnt burn my pot again!

She's bring the rubberband in her mouth to me, drop it on my textbook (while I'm trying to study) and look at me with the most earnest innocent look! As if telling me "Mummy, will u throw the rubberband for me to fetch? Pleasssssse....." + Watery-Eyed-Puss-In-The-Boots Looks! Haiz... and she will repeatedly do it! Until I decided to use this oppty to teach her the command "fetch"! When I say that, she will just stroll to the rubberband afar and settle down to play with it! *FAINT!*

Clock struck 12 and we "ushered" Starry on stage with Gino, Patrick and .....Forgot his name! Of cos Gino disturbed her to the max but all in the spirit of Gd fun! HAHAH! All the attention on her, somehow gd that it's a Monday nite cos the crowd is not too overwhelming and we have our space to giggle like silly little girls!
