So Excited! Status Upgrade!

So excited today!

My status upgraded to become a parent! Finally confirmed the adoption process of Kittens - Cookie&Cream! This was what happened before this blog was created:

-Decided to try to convince Papa to let me keep pets... all these years to no avail... Stepmom is afraid of animals (esp Dogs)... somehow I knew that I will always be a pet parent... my wish is to have a chocolate colour labrador and a cat... (actually my secret wish is to have a Dog and a Cat - to proof to others that: Yes! They can live in harmony!)

-Somehow Papa was quite easily convinced... I duno if my recent little "misfortune" has to do with him giving in so easily to me... in fact he asked me lots of questions like "where are you going to get a cat?!" Even my elder Bro, Edward, readily agreed to helping out with the feeding/cleaning etc and was equally excited! =D

-Reading up alot on the web / library books (yes, I still go to the library!) to find out more abt keeping cats...much experience with Dogs but not so much with Cats...1 word to describe my Learning curve - STEEP!

-There are just too many kittens/cats abandon each day... so I scanned the Cats Welfare Society for adoption posting. Indeed the choices are many... narrowed down to kittens ard age of 1.5mths, straight tails... no black n tortie (sorry, Papa is supersitious...I wana him to love the kitty too!)... somehow along the way, I was convinced that I should take in 2 kittens (so they can have company!)

-Went for a total of 4 viewings...evey1 I know said that I am crazy! Why must I go for adoption interview etc... just pick up any stray cat from the streets will do etc etc! Of course not every1 was like that, most of them knew I mean no joke when they saw how serious I was! My colleague friend, April, even went with me on my First viewing when she knew how nervous I was! It was like a Blind Date / Match Making session! It's a long term commitment you know, cant hastily make a decision!! So finally decided I like Cookie & Cream the most!

-Growing up with good fostering environment! Foster parents are very dedicated cat lovers... lovely people! (Thanks to Meow and Adrian!)

-They are well socialised with other cats and human!

(Meow and Adrian have 6 growth babies of their own!)

-They are everything healthy kittens should be like! Curious, playful, bright eyed etc!

-I can safely leave them with foster parents till 14 Sep (my block leave!) knowing they are in good hands! Thanks to foster parents who agreed to helped me!

-They have new colour (Cookie & Cream - Duh!)... though Cream has a straight tail and Cookie's stubbed... It was Love at the First Sight!!! Wuahah!

So... now is the waiting period... I have been fanatically reading up on the forums ...everything I can lay my hands on with info abt keeping cats! Loitering in Pet Shops... the pet shop people must start to think that I am a crazy woman, keeps coming in, loiter for a long time and not buying anything! I was receeing the food brands, litter brands, toys, bedding, etc...mah!
Finally I bought some stuff today... but First....


Put up my bicycle! Contemplating if should DIY, convert the bottom part of the Bike Tower to a scratching post?! Still thinking....

This shall be my Secret Weapon for any undesirable behaviour... bad kitty... squirt... harmless but effective.... hopefully only use this for ironing clothes and not on the kittens!

Bought 2 identical collars with Bell (Have to find them incase they decide to play hide and seek with me! ) n Identity container (in case, just in case they managed to sneak out - I am not leaving it to chance!) Safety collars are teeny bit more expensive, but it makes sense in case they get tangled and need to break loose from the collars!

Niceeee..... even for me who dun really fancy Pink so much! It's too pretty to give it a miss!
