To start off, I started to migrate all my contacts info to Gmail, that took 2 precious weekends.
To me, contact info do not end at just Hp number, I try to include as much details as possible i.e.:
DOB, Address, Email, Home no., office no. NRIC, direction to the house, blood type to name a few.
Now u understand why it took me 2 weekends! HAHA!
Like you, I have a few email accounts:
1) Gmail - which is mainly for my work, now my contacts and calender is sync.
2) Hotmail - which is mainly for personal, i.e. msn
3) Yahoo - which is mainly for web info (i.e. registration for forum, contest, subscription etc).
Now... i have been checking emails on my iphone for a while now. Since Gmail(Google) and iPhone are buddy buddy, most of the info is easier sync over and reading mail, contact info, calender is auto sync! WHICH IS GREAT!!! But it can get really frustrating when I check Hotmail... the previous HOT email address to have is no longer as HOT as before(Pun intended)! They are still lagging in terms of syncing up with the iPhone!
The exact problem is not setting up Hotmail in the exchange, the problem is with reading it. Once u read it on iPhone, it is not reflected in the Web version - vice versa. Plus, there is not "Read all" function, u have to manually re-read everything again... opening the mail for 2 secs and close the mail.
It has been like this for a while, & since I keep my Hotmail account mainly for personal matters, it dun receive much emails hence i dint really bother to resolve the problem...lately i have been exchange email with my bestie on her company email address & the volume is high, hence the frustration also piled up!
So last nite, I forwarded all my Hotmail emails to my Gmail account. now I only have to read from my Gmail in iphone. but I encountered a second 2nd problem:
I want to be able to send emails i received from Hotmail- using my Hotmail address instead of my Gmail address! The web mail version allows u to choose from which account u want to "Send From" or
"Send As", but not iPhone....ARGH!!!
Today, i finally decided to do something...
here's my discovery!
Thanks to 2 of the many websites that i have searched... here goes the 2 steps!
1) How to set Gmail as IMAP in iphone!
2) How to set ur "Send As" sender?
I'll try to simplify it here for u:
1) Go to {Settings}, {Mail, Contacts n Calender},
2) Select {Add Account},
3) Select {Others}, (see below)
4) Select {Add Mail Account},
5) Type in your email info, Select {Next}
#Remb to include ....@gmail.com
It gets a bit tricky from here.... =)
6) We need a Comma (,) for the "address" field
(u will find that you dun have the comma (,) function. Hence to "Bluff and go ard" the system, type it under "description", select n copy the ",".....
7) paste it in the "Address" field. (See below)
8) Then type in the Other Address u want to be able to "Send As" (Leave no space between the comma ,)
9) This part completes the whole IMAP setting!

10) Now, let's test it out!
At Homepage, Select {Mail} icon,
Select the {Create New Mail} icon.
Select the {Create New Mail} icon.
Select "CC/Bcc, From:" field and you can choose from which address/account u want to "Send As"
