It's Chinese New Year...=D

Frankly, I have never really enjoyed chinese new year celebration beyond the age of 16years old... the amount of ang pow money I received over the years has been Grossly Inversely Proportionate to my Age... beyond a certain age, u start to have to fork out even more money to buy ur own new year clothings and it's just not a lucrative "ang pow generating business" anymore!

Of cos, the "cute-factor" has a great influence on the "size" of the ang pow too! Unfortunately, this is on a Directly Proportionate scale! ARGH!

To make things worse, my life has not been easy beyond the age of 25 when all the aunties n uncles whom u only see once a year, have problem remembering ur name or the job u have been holding for the last 10yrs, suddenly become SUPA concerned with your eternal happiness (终身幸福)!

This year is rather special, my family is hosting the whole extended family from the paternal side... for the 1st time! actually I wasnt really excited, cos first of all - i dun think they will like cats.... the last thing I need is for them to comment to my papa that my room is smelly, furry, cats are irky etc. secondly, I dun really like to entertain pple whom i am not close too.. i run outa topics to tok abt, c'mon-I only see these pple once year, twice the max! I will 冷场 lah!

But I think my papa is really excited but that only made Linda a very stress woman! For days, I have seen her clean the house like she never did! All the little corners that she "conveniently" missed over the years, she suddenly see them all! She was cleaning Ferociously! She visited the market on an average of 3 times in 6hrs PER DAY for the last 3-4days... making trips back with Trolley-full of food stuff etc. she even employed the help of her brother to cook some dishes & send them over like catering siah! faint!  that's how stressed she was!

For me, I just made sure my room as "fur-less" as possible! Kekek! that's abt it! I was concerned that they wouldnt like cats, so I decided to make my kitties "cuter", in tuned with the Tigger Year, I decided to make some CNY clothes for them!

1st I wanted to make something "Tiggerish".... The print I had in mind was this....

I suddenly got very excited & turned on the lamp when I was already in bed...
& Sketched this on the nearest post-it pad I can get my hands on!

Sketches...

The next morning, I went out to try to get the material I wanted! But alas, after running to a few nearby market, I couldnt get wat I want! in the end, I got these...

It's just 2 drawstring bags (shd be for oranges bah)!

I feel like a mother in the olden days, whereby u buy cloth as gifts n let ur kids choose the material they llike before tailoring it into clothes!

Nugget choosing his "material" for CNY!

Creamie cant decide which colour she will look nicer in!

Nugget still cant decide!
He's thinking very hard now....

This is the time when I really wish I have a sewing machine! Cos I had to sew the pieces together by hand, stitch by stitch! OMG! *FAINT!*

Finally....
For my 大女儿 creamie....tadah!

& for my 小儿子 Nugget!

Trying them on!

Model Creamie!

Model Nugget!

I seriously think that's how the term Cat-Walk comes abt!

Please give ur hand to our models! *CLAP*CLAP*

To my surprise too, my typical chinese-cat-disliking-relatives are not wat I think they are!
They likey my kiddos! Very much & spent a long time playing with them! They started to reminisce their own experiences of their pet dogs n cats when they were younger etc... how they missed their pets n babies!

Turning 30 this year also suddenly became a breeze at the annual CNY gathering... phew.... they focused their attention mainly on my kiddos, my new 1 month old nephew, my road bike & the impressive bike tower, how clean n spacious my room is... they even accepted my single-mum-status! fierce, fiercely unexpected!

Our annual family portrait!
Xiong's Family!

Edwards' n wife Ariel!

Cousin Bi, her fiancé, Wei n cousin Ming!
(*Baby Gabrian on Loan basis! =P)

They all beckon me to take our own photos! But I asked them with "who siah?!"
They also duno what to say then they say with ur children lah! Wuahaah!
Shd have tot of it, except that I am the family's photographer leh! Who will take for me!?
Faint!

What a chinese new year, i ate countless pieces of Bah Kwa... pineapple tarts... cans n cans of "bird's nest" can drink, bowls of pig intestine soup, shark's fin w fish maw soup, ice cold cheng teng, almond jelly w sea coconut... keropok...lotsa peaches n cherry... curry chicken...

Aiyah....it's alot alot alot of FOOD lah!
Nonstop eating till nite when the last guest left the house at 9.30pm....

With so much food calories to burn off & being the cleanliness freak that I am, I attempted to do some "exercise" and mopped my room floor + cleaned all the surface top with dettol before i dropped on my bed n K.O-ed at 10.30pm....

Wat a MERRY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
