Bloody Hell! I wanna complain!

So fed up with the mobile broardband signed up last week!
Damn!

Anyway, managed to cfm the cancellation / termination plan WITHOUT Penalty! YAY! Without musch fuss made as well! In the end, I signed up with the service provider that promised "Fastest Broadband & best coverage"... i figured that since they recently lost out on a BIG deal to AhGong's company... they will be spurred to offer better Service, Plans... and of course price!

Unfortunately, once u are IN the plan, you are IN. No upgrading like Handphone sets (which I dun understand why! I'll be paying more per month for the subscription & they are using a SIM card "dial up" technology)!

Anyhow, since I discovered something else doing my "research online", I pose this question to the staff at the "Milky way"! He agrees with me that it's "silly" (actually, I was daring him to say that it is "Stupid", I will record it & podcast it)! We were just chatting & he admits that this is the 1st time some1 point this out to him & it makes no sense to him too!

Question: The 2 Mbps plan promised Downlink/download speed of 2Mbps and uplink/upload speed of 512kbps. Then why is the device given "FREE" has a hardware limitation of uplink speed 384kbps (though the max download speed it can support is 3.6Mbps)! WTF!

I decided to do it the Singaporean way.... I wrote into ST Forum last nite:
----------------

Mobile Broadband Plan signed up with promised of uplink speed 512kbps!
But free device given allows a maximum speed of only 384kbps!
So why are we paying for a plan that does not deliver its promise?

Dear ST Forum,

Last week, I signed up a Mobile Broadband with one of the main service providers.Thereafter I met with some hiccups trying to upload a file. A quick online search showed that three main mobile broadband service providers (namly Singtel, M1, Starhub) had similarly promised an uplink/upload speed of 512kbps for their “2mbps plan”.

However, the USB Device given “free” together with the plan has it’s limitations. To my horror, all the USB Devices had a maximum downlink speed of 3.6mbps and a maximum uplink speed of only 384kbps! It is specifically the “2mbps plans” that had this discrepancy wrongly promised the uplink speed.

So why are we paying for a plan that does not deliver its promise?

Shouldn’t service providers be providing us with the correct or at least adaquate USB Device for a plan we had paid for?

Service providers should review this discrepancy and allow subscribers to do an exchange for a new USB Device that delivers the speed promised of the plan! Consumers should also not be penalised with early termination cost for contract; since the contract did not deliver as promised.

I hope to hear a response from the various service providers and also other consumers’ views.
Thank You.

*Attached is a pdf file of some service providers plan information.
