Really in pain now... *OUCH*
I feel my buttocks falling apart... met up with Ellen for our weekend Long Distance run at ECP just now... I whined to her that my buttocks hurts from the badminton session last nite... I must have not played badminton for the past 3yrs & she was also feeling some tightness & sore in her thighs cos she didnt play for the past 1 month.... DUH!?! Can u imagine my pain!
My Right & Left Butt cheeks threaten to fall apart with each pounding step.... really ouch... it was quite a torture actually.... we did a timecheck & surprisingly were still in good time for the 1st 30mins - 4.5km "starting mirror", made it to Lamp post number J-4-22 today after another 30mins jog (total: 1hr)... but the next 1 hr to come was really putting us to the test - mentally & physically....
I was "tasked" to keep pace...We pushed ourselves to reach the "Mirror", we were supposed to reach in ard 30mins(total 1hr30mins), but we exhausted in a lump after a total of 1hr32mins. Decided to spend the next 3-4mins doing some Butt stretching exercises.
We hit the road again thereafter - i would say it's 80% mental strength already. Ellen was starting to straggle behind alittle, she asked me to go ahead! No way man! We've come too far to leave 1 X woman behind! So we pushed each other & I maintained the pacing... maybe it was the responsibility she had emplaced in me, I felt the need to complete this run, esp when she said the magic words: "Soya, Bring me home..."
I have always pride myself as some1 who can keep a decent pacing once I am "into" the run.... so steadily, we "struggled" towards Water Venture (end point) & clocked a 2hrs5mins. We accounted the extra 5 mins delay to our dilapidated bon bons & the stretching. Still it was a rather good run & definitely gd pacing (Pat meself on the back)!
We figured we had clocked shy of 19km... probably 18.6km
Calculations as such:
55mins divide by 8.5km = speed of 6.47min/km (accurate as we did 1hr50mins for 17km),
since we had ran 2hrs, means (120 divide 6.47min/km) we covered abt 18.54km this wkend.
Every 5mins we add to our training, we will be increasing by abt 772.8metres.
(1000metres divide by 6.47min/kim multiple by 5mins)
& since we are adding 10mins each week - our distance will increase by approx 1.54km! =D
If you are wondering why I am so into Maths recently, I think it's about time I take training seriously.
Utterly inspired by the "Dr.Ben Tan" book that Ellen gave me! YAY!
Until now, I still awe at the distance I am doing... i never... NEVER tot it would be possible for me to achieve such milege... 18.6km...1 shot.... no joke! Before May2009, I was still struggling with a max of 8km... it's only Nov now... wow!
"Soya, 你行的! 你做到了!YAY!"
Ok, for those who have already done ur Ironman, Ironwoman, Marathon, Ultra marathon, Half Marathon etc.... I know this sounds like a rather simple feat to you... but can give me some credits!?! It's not easy for a 57kg-since-secondary-two girl (now still at least 54kg lah!) to run on those size 5 feet... that's alot of weight to carry around leh! Poor Mrs.Left & Mrs.Right(that's what I call my feet)!
For now, I think I am ready... for Standard Chartered Half Marathon 21km on 6Dec09... Bring it on!'
Kudos to my training buddy, Ellen, for making it happen! Cheers Buddy! =D
